Candy O'Terry
Magic 106.7’s Candy O’Terry started out as a singer and landed in radio. Born in New York City and raised in Connecticut, Candy came to Boston to dive for Boston College. A two-time finalist on Star Search, Candy fronted a band throughout the 80’s and was a successful jingle singer. In 1990, she was hired as a fill-in secretary at Magic 106.7 and worked her way up to where she is today. Candy got her first shot on the air when a disc jockey fell asleep and got fired! She worked the overnight shift while her children, Christopher and Colleen slept in the newsroom. She would go on to become one of Boston’s most loved radio personalities. In May 2001, Candy was promoted to Assistant Program Director. She is a seasoned performer who has recorded and released The Gift with Grammy nominee Jim Brickman and David Corey, Valentine, and You Are The Only One with rocker Charlie Farren. Candy has performed at Symphony Hall with Keith Lockhart & the Boston Pops, the Shubert and Cutler Majestic Theatres, the TD Garden and at the City of Boston Tree Lighting. She is a judge on WBZ-TV and TV 38's Emmy Award winning talent show, Community Auditions. A single mom for 15 years, Candy married Tom Gaffny in 2006.

Candy O’Terry is the creator and co-host of Magic 106.7’s Exceptional Women, winner of 30 local and national awards for excellence in women’s programming, including 15 Gracie Allen Awards. She is the spokesperson for The PinkRose Foundation and the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Candy is the recipient of the Media Hero Award from the American Red Cross and the Legacy Award from the Boston Women Communicators. She serves as a music ambassador for Music Drives Us and is on the board of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame. She is a 3 term President of the American Women in Radio & Television/New England Chapter. Candy is playing the role of Candace Malone in the new feature film CO2.
