Ovations for the Cure Grant Application Process
I. Topics for Grants:
Grant applications will be accepted for topics within ovarian cancer research.
Paralleling the Foundation’s mission, particular topics of interest include ovarian cancer prevention, improved understanding of ovarian cancer biology, and improved treatments for ovarian cancer.
Projects will be accepted in the following areas:
- Basic science
- Translational research
- Clinical and epidemiologic projects
II. National applicant qualifications:
- Applicants must have an MD, Ph.D, DO or other equivalent degree.
- Applications are accepted from the United States and from non-profit institutions.
- Application must be received by Ovations in English
- Font size is Arial 12 point.
- Applicant can have academic rank but if a clinical fellow or in post-doctorate training (i.e. does not have an independent laboratory), must have a letter from his/her mentor stating support for this applicant and the project.
- All applicants must have a letter of support from their Chairperson.
III. Grant application requirements:
A. The following content must be included in the grant application:
- Title of project
- Lay abstract (not more than 1/2 page)
- Scientific abstract (not more than 1/2 page)
- Specific aims or objectives
- Background and preliminary data
- Study design
- Importance of this research
- Timeline
- references
- Key personnel working on the project (use NIH template)
- Other support
- Biosketch of all investigators- (can use NIH template)
- Itemized budget: should include personnel costs, supplies and equipment,patient care costs, travel, other expenses, indirect costs.
Items 4 through 8 should be limited to 5 pages.
B. Institution and contacts
The following signatures are required:
- Applicant
- Grants contract officer: an individual authorized to sign on behalf of the organization and the appropriate person to receive the grant contract from OFTC.
